About Us

In 2004, Philip Marshall Hay, a beloved member of the class of 2007, passed away in a car accident while he was home visiting. That same year, Prescott Hoffman died after an accident in downtown Lexington. Prescott was a dear friend to the class and a graduate of Centre College. Two years later, Lauren Fannin and Lindsay Harp both passed in a tragic accident. Fannin was a member of the class of 2008. Harp was a nursing student at University of Kentucky, and both Fannin and Harp were graduates of Georgetown College.

The Memorial Golf Scramble was started in order to pay tribute to Philip and Prescott, and later Fannin and Harp. Over the course of 20 years, the charity has helped contribute to their respective scholarship funds. In addition, we were fortunate to expand our donations to dozens of other worthy causes.

To date, over $125,000 has been donated by the Pharmacy Class of 2007 Charities. Some of the charities and scholarship funds that have received these funds include, the UK College of Pharmacy Scholarship Fund, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude’s, March of Dimes, ALS Foundation. The class also donates to local charities, including Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Lexington, CrimeStoppers, Owsley County Youth Fund and local Ronald McDonald Houses and Habitat for Humanity chapters.

It has been through our annual memorial, and the loyal support of family and friends that we carry on the legacy of our friends. We greatly appreciate you all, and look forward to this year’s memorial.
